Thank you for writing this. I've read around 25% of this book so far and have a lot of thoughts an opinions of my own as well. I agree with you wholeheartedly that Nehru is a flawed character and made blunders (specially on China and Kashmir), but tell me a world leader (or any person for that matter) who hasn't done that? No human is perfect and neither was he.
Its imperative that we judge Nehru as a whole rather than only his greatness (like INC does) or his flaws (like BJP does).
But what does his pluses and minuses result in? I think overall it'll be a big plus, and that's good enough for me.
One of his biggest contributions is that he kept the country united after independence when so many other countries which achieved freedom during that time broke away. And for that alone he deserves more than a ton of credit.
